Be You @ Beghou

60 SECONDS WITH KYLE MAUCH

Manager Kyle Mauch joined Beghou Consulting’s Evanston office in 2011 before transferring to its newly opened New York office in 2014. Kyle enjoys exploring the Big Apple, staying connected with his colleagues in other offices and seeing how his work at Beghou directly impacts life sciences companies and the patients they serve.

Why did you decide to work at Beghou?
“I was interested in a career in the health care or pharma industry and lucky enough to stumble upon Beghou in my search. I was drawn to two aspects of working at Beghou: First, the firm’s culture and values, and second, the ability to jump in and begin contributing immediately. After several rounds of interviews and getting to know my future colleagues, I knew it would be a great fit.”
What do you like to do on weekends?
“There are always fun events happening in New York City – one of its many nicknames is “The City that Never Sleeps”! I try to take advantage of the melting pot that is New York by attending a variety of events, including street festivals, museums and Broadway shows. I also have a membership at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, more commonly known as “The Met.” I recently saw an interesting exhibit there called “The Last Knight,” which included European arms and armor from the Renaissance. When I want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, I visit nearby beaches or take the train to hike upstate.”
How would you describe the culture at Beghou?

“The people at Beghou make the culture. It’s a very inclusive, highly motivated and hardworking group of people. We’re close-knit and challenge each other to grow.

We also focus on staying connected with other Beghou offices. Having cross-office teams helps with that. Many of our colleagues travel between offices, and we encourage them to swing by if they’re near our office in lower Manhattan.”

Where is your favorite place to travel?
“I love going anywhere that I haven’t been before and exploring the local culture. I also like a good beach vacation, especially in the winter – who wouldn’t?!A few years ago, I went back to Germany, which is where I studied abroad in high school. It was fun to return to a country where I had spent a lot of time over a decade ago. Of course, I was also able to truly experience Oktoberfest for the first time during this last visit!”
If you could have a meal with anyone, who would it be?
“I’ve always been fascinated with the humanitarian efforts that Jimmy Carter is involved in through his foundation, The Carter Center. He won a Nobel Peace Prize for his work in 2002. I’d love to speak with him about his humanitarian work and his vision for the foundation’s future.”
What is a favorite project you’ve worked on, and why?
“I’ve really enjoyed the forecasting projects I’ve worked on. They are both very challenging and exciting. Forecasts greatly impact our clients’ decisions surrounding their commercial operations efforts – from sales force design to incentive compensation. I once worked with a pharmaceutical manufacturer to create a forecast for a product to treat oncology patients and saw the thousands of patients who would benefit from this product annually. It’s very rewarding to help ensure this product and all others ultimately reach the patients who need them most.”
