Be You @ Beghou

60 SECONDS WITH RAVI SINGH

Manager Ravi Singh earned a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. Ravi works in Beghou’s Emeryville office, where he developed code for Meridian™ Balance, an internal tool used by the Beghou team to help configure territories and allocate sales forces across geographies.

What are Beghou’s goals, and how do your day-to-day responsibilities contribute to these goals?

“Life sciences experts must synthesize large amounts of data to uncover new insights. At Beghou, we provide custom solutions by leveraging and analyzing the best available data. I work in specialized service areas, including incentive compensation and territory alignment. As part of this role, I developed the code for Meridian™ Balance, which our teams use to design sales territories and determine the most effective allocation of sales forces across geographies.

One goal at Beghou is to offer a diverse and inclusive environment for all employees. As a member of our diversity and inclusion council, I brainstorm ways to continuously improve the firm’s recruitment and professional development efforts.”

If you could share a meal with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
“I would love to have dinner with one of my ancestors from many generations ago. My family is originally from South America, and I’m ethnically Indian, but don’t know many details about my family’s history. I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with my ancestors from India to learn more about my family history, listen to their stories and identify aspects of their lives that make me who I am today.”
What’s a favorite project you’ve worked on, and why?
“I had the most fun creating the Meridian™ Balance tool, and it’s been rewarding to watch my colleagues use it on a daily basis. Alignment projects are great opportunities to learn and challenge myself. On one urgent project, we used the Meridian code to create an alignment in a fraction of the amount of time it would usually take!”
Which behavior or personality trait do you most attribute your success to, and why?
“Evaluating my strengths and weaknesses plays an important role in my success. I use my strengths to position myself for success and continuously work on refining my weaknesses. Taking action also leads to more opportunities to excel. Over the years, I’ve learned it’s important to volunteer for projects and be proactive in my career.”
How would you describe work-life balance at Beghou?
“When my daughter was born last year, I was able to take time off to spend with my growing family. It meant so much that my colleagues ensured I could enjoy that special time to bond with her. My team’s flexibility enabled me to adjust to life as a new father and continue to contribute to client projects.”
What would you tell someone considering a career at Beghou?
“Go for it! If you enjoy analyzing and solving complex problems, Beghou is the place for you. We are collaborative; our teams work together to achieve meaningful results for life sciences companies.”
