Overview

The Manager, Marketing Science & Advanced Analytics will be a subject matter expert, who will help shape the firm’s perspectives and capabilities in advanced analytics and solutions space.  The right individual in this role will structure and execute advanced analytical techniques and models on HCP, Account, and Patient-level biopharma datasets to address clients’ commercial effectiveness questions and help them make fact-based strategic decisions. The right individual will be a thought leader in advanced analytics and modeling, develop new marketing & digital analytics offerings and technology solutions, drive business impact by delivering offerings and solutions to clients, and coach and develop analysts.  Candidates will be experienced in the application of advanced analytics and modeling techniques to address commercial questions using biopharma datasets. Success in this position requires thought leadership, and demonstrated success in business development, client engagement, organizational and people development, managing multiple projects simultaneously, structuring innovative modeling solutions, and driving business impact for clients.

Responsibilities

Solutions Leader

  • Serve as a subject matter expert, and be adept at addressing pressing commercial effectiveness questions for the biopharma industry through the application of advanced analytics and modeling techniques (latent class segmentation, clustering, regression, test-control, Markov Chains, decision-tree, marketing mix, optimization, propensity modeling, etc.) to HCP, Account, Patient, and other relevant biopharma datasets in order to generate actionable insights
  • Play a key role in defining and developing advanced analytics & modeling capabilities and offerings that create scale and advance firm’s capabilities
  • Work closely with Partners and client teams to uncover and understand clients’ pressing commercial questions and issues, recommend appropriate advanced analytics and technology solutions to effectively address the challenges, and provide expertise in architecting and implementing the solutions for clients
  • Lead and own successful delivery of advanced analytics and modeling engagements that deliver high-impact results for clients
  • Direct multiple advanced analytics and modeling projects simultaneously,
  • Motivate, coach and serve as a role model for analysts in project team

Business Development

  • Build case studies and white papers that demonstrate the use cases for our advanced analytics and modeling capabilities and the value-proposition of our commercial effectiveness solutions to clients and prospects
  • Support Partners with pre-sales activities and help convert prospects to new clients
  • Support Partners in developing custom advanced analytics and modeling solution to grow existing clients
  • Support Partners in drafting proposals with solutions, staffing plans, and pricing
  • Support Partners in responding to specific RFP questions; help create competitive differentiation through the innovative application of advanced analytics and modeling techniques to address business problems across practice areas like Patient Services, Data Science & Machine Learning Brand Planning, Incentive Compensation, Sales Force Sizing, Data Management, and Forecasting

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Math, Statistics, Advanced Analytics, Engineering, or related discipline; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant post-collegiate work; 8+ years of work experience with MBA
  • 5+ years of experience implementing advanced analytics concepts and modeling (e.g. regression, test-control, Markov Chains, decision-tree, marketing mix, optimization, propensity modeling, digital attribution, etc.) to address biopharma commercial effectiveness questions
  • Expertise in advanced analytics and modeling approaches, and a strong understanding of biopharma and healthcare data sets; understanding of big (patient claims) data, a plus
  • Hands-on experience coding in Python/R/SAS
  • Deep knowledge of analytic tools such as R, Python, SAS, SPSS, SQL, and Tableau
  • Hands-on experience in building marketing mix, test-control, clustering, and attribution models to address a range of commercial questions in the SAS/AWS/Azure environments
  • Track record of business development (pre-sell, upsell) success
  • Agile project planning and project management experience
  • Team management and skill development experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; comfort presenting complex ideas in simple terms to clients and prospects
  • Strong attention to detail, with a business-focused mindset
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Analytics software solution development experience
  • Prior authorship of industry and academic publications, preferred
