Overview

The Manager, Market Access Strategy and Analytics will be a subject matter expert, who will help shape the firm’s perspectives and capabilities in the market access strategy and analytics space.  The right individual in this role will structure and execute analytics on Payer, Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM), Plan and Provider-level biopharma datasets to address clients’ market access questions and help them make fact-based strategic decisions. The right individual will be a thought leader in the market access space, develop new strategy & analytics offerings and technology solutions, drive business impact by delivering offerings and solutions to clients, and coach and develop analysts.  Candidates will bring deep understanding of the biopharma market access landscape and payer, PBM, provider, pricing and patient access issues, and be experienced in the application of analytics and modeling techniques to address payer, provider, and patient-access and provider-questions using biopharma datasets. Success in this position requires demonstrated thought leadership, and demonstrated success in business development, client engagement, organizational and people development, managing multiple projects simultaneously, structuring appropriate analytics solutions, and driving business impact for clients.

Responsibilities

Solutions Leader

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the biopharma market access space, and be adept at addressing pressing market access questions by leveraging payer/plan, provider, formulary, rebate, contracting, patient access/support, health outcome and other relevant biopharma datasets, and applying appropriate analytics techniques (segmentation, sizing, regression, test-control, decision-tree, optimization, forecasting) and strategic frameworks (SWOT, 3Ps, economic value, breakeven) to generate actionable business insights
  • Play a key role in defining and developing analytics and modeling capabilities and offerings that create scale and advance firm’s capabilities
  • Work closely with Partners and client teams to uncover and understand clients’ pressing managed care questions and issues, recommend appropriate strategic framework, analytics and technology solutions to effectively address the challenges, and provide expertise in architecting and implementing solutions for clients
  • Lead and own successful delivery of strategy & analytics engagements that deliver high-impact results for clients
  • Direct multiple market access projects simultaneously
  • Motivate, coach, and serve as a role model for analysts in project team

Business Development

  • Build case studies and white papers that demonstrate the use cases for our strategic frameworks and analytics capabilities and the value-proposition of our solutions to clients and prospects
  • Support Partners with pre-sales activities and help convert prospects to new clients
  • Support Partners in developing custom advanced analytics and modeling solutions to grow existing clients
  • Support Partners in drafting proposals with solutions, staffing plans, and pricing
  • Support Partners in responding to specific RFP questions, and help create competitive differentiation through the innovative application of strategic frameworks and analytics techniques to address a range of business problems, including landscape analysis, segmentation & targeting, account team sizing & structure, account team role & incentives, effectiveness of patient copay and adherence programs, market access data integration, rebate and contracting effectiveness analysis,  impact assessment for market events, pull-through analysis, and value-based pricing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant post-collegiate work; 8+ years of work experience with MBA
  • 5+ years of experience implementing market access strategy and analytics for buy & bill, specialty pharmacy and pharmacy brands (e.g. clustering, regression, test-control, decision-tree, optimization, breakeven, etc.)
  • Expertise in market access issues and analytics approaches, and a strong understanding of biopharma market access data sets, including real-world patient data and outcomes
  • Familiarity with analytic tools such as R, Python, SAS, SPSS, SQL, and Tableau
  • Experience overseeing the building of analytical models to address a range of market access questions in the SAS/AWS/Azure environments
  • Track record of business development (pre-sell, upsell) success
  • Agile project planning and project management experience
  • Team management and skill development experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; comfort presenting complex ideas in simple terms to clients and prospects
  • Strong attention to detail, with a business-focused mindset
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Analytics software solution development experience, preferred
  • Prior authorship of industry and academic publications, preferred
