Beghou Consulting promotes drug commercialization expert to associate partner in Washington, D.C., office

ROCKVILLE, Md. — Dec. 19, 2019 — Life sciences consulting firm Beghou Consulting recently promoted Erik Cruz, leader of its Washington, D.C., office, to associate partner. With 15 years of health care industry experience, he counsels life sciences companies – from smaller orphan drug manufacturers to pharmaceutical giants – to help them improve their commercial strategies, including forecasting, customer targeting, and data management.

Cruz has significant experience designing sales forces and incentive compensation plans for teams promoting unique therapies, including those that treat rare diseases. Leveraging insights from field medical teams, including medical science liaisons and nurse educators, Cruz helps companies determine the most appropriate physicians to target with promotion. He has also guided the development of medical information request processes, helped coordinate medical communications both pre- and post-launch, and advised clients on how to properly size and allocate their field medical resources.

Cruz, who has worked at Beghou for over a dozen years, earned both his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in biomedical engineering from Northwestern University. Prior to joining Beghou, he worked for several years in medical research at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, now the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
